LAWRENCEVILLE — The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office will host its second annual “Jail Break Challenge” 5K and obstacle run next weekend.
The event, which includes both team and individual competitions, will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 7. The run begins at 750 Hi Hope Road in Lawrenceville and consists of 3.1 miles of mixed terrain and 16 military-style obstacles.
Early registration is available through June 4 and is $40 per individual or $140 per team of four. Race-day registration will be $45 and $160, respectively.
Proceeds of the run will benefit Explorer Post No. 699, a local young mentoring program and Gwinnett County Beat the Heat, a program that teaches young drivers about the dangers of street racing and distracted driving.
