Georgia Gwinnett College's Hodges named national men's tennis coach of the year

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has named Georgia Gwinnett College head tennis coach Chase Hodges as the 2014 Wilson/ITA Coach of the Year for NAIA men’s tennis.

He had previously earned the ITA’s Coach of the Year honors for the South region.

Hodges has led the Grizzlies to a perfect 17-0 record this year and the No. 3 seed in the 2014 Men’s Tennis National Championships in Mobile, Ala.

He has amassed a 28-1 men’s record over two seasons at the helm of the GGC program.

The Grizzlies captured first place at the 2014 Unaffiliated A.I.I./Gulf Coast/Red River/Sooner tennis tournament in New Orleans last month, the first-ever postseason tournament for the second-year program.

Hodges and the Grizzlies will look to compete for GGC’s first-ever national championship in Mobile this week and will begin play today.
