Gwinnett Daily Post
Gwinnett County Public Schools is looking for children with disabilities who are currently enrolled in a private or home school program in the county.
The school district will host an event called Project Child Find at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the Instructional Support Center, Building 200, Central Gwinnett Room, at 437 Old Peachtree Road in Suwanee. District officials said Gwinnett County citizens who might know a child who is having difficulty with development, hearing, vision, or speech, are encouraged to participate this week in an event specifically held to help these children.
At the event, school district experts will provide information about possible services available through the school system to students with special needs. GCPS is required by law to locate and identify children from birth to 21-years-old with disabilities who are in need of special education and related services.
For more information, parents and guardians who believe they may have a child with a disability can call the GCPS Department of Special Education and Psychological Services at 678-301-7110.
