LAWRENCEVILLE — A fire that caused neighbors to dial 911 after hearing a loud boom and seeing flames caused extensive damage to a house and cars early Monday morning in the 500 block of Lockridge Lane SW.
A Lawrenceville Police office on a routine patrol investigated the scene, but was unable to enter the home because of the intensity of the fire. Gwinnett County Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said the blaze engulfed two vehicles near a garage and heavy damage to the house. No one was at the house, and no injuries were reported during the blaze, which was first reported at 7:58 a.m. Firefighters had it under control by 9:06 a.m.
A third vehicle sustained residual damage due to the fire.
The exact cause of the fire is undetermined and is under investigation, Rutledge said.
