A man shot multiple times in the back parking lot of a Norcross restaurant is expected to survive, Norcross Police Chief Warren Summers said Friday evening.
An altercation that began just before 4 p.m. outside the Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen near Interstate 85 at 5635 Jimmy Carter Blvd. began after a "transaction" was planned between two parties, but not related to the restaurant or anyone associated with it.
Three vehicles were involved, and Summers said police are looking for a Saturn and a silver Ford Explorer. They recovered a P.T. Cruiser that belongs to the victim. The unidentified man was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, but his injuries are no longer considered life-threatening.
The victim got out of his car and walked through the restaurant and asked for help from employees when a hostess called 911. The employees escorted him out a side door, Summers said.
A black male with dreadlocks and a female left the scene in what was believed to be a Saturn vehicle, Summers said, who added that police are working several leads in the case.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the crime scene.
