The city of Lawrenceville, in partnership with the Lawrenceville Tourism and Trade Association, has announced it will continue its annual tradition of presenting the Moonlight and Music summer concert series in Lawrenceville Square.
The last Friday of each month May through September will feature a different free concert event for families to attend on the lawn of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse. The concerts will begin at 8 p.m. and will feature favorite local and regional bands playing a variety of musical genres.
Residents are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic dinners, but are discouraged from bringing alcoholic beverages. The concerts are free events but advance tables for six can be reserved for $65 by calling the Visitor’s Center.
“The Moonlight & Music concerts provide families in and around the Lawrenceville area a free outdoor activity to enjoy while also having the opportunity to see what’s new around the Lawrenceville Square,” Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson said. “With new shops, events and restaurants, there’s always something to see or do in Lawrenceville.”
Moonlight and Music kicks off May 30 with Abbey Road LIVE!, a Beatles tribute band. On June 27, the soul, R&B and beach scene band The Grains of Sand plays. Electric Avenue, an ’80s pop hit band, plays July 25. Sons of Sailors, a Jimmy Buffett variety band, will play Aug. 29. The concert series closes out Sept. 26 with Yacht Rock Schooner, a ’70s radio hits and variety group.
