Fatal shooting reported on Columbus State University campus

A man who exchanged gunfire with police during an incident at an apartment complex on the campus of Columbus State University on Sunday was killed, university officials told media outlets.

Police responded to Columbus State University's Courtyard 1 North apartment complex on the main campus just after 2:30 p.m.

The man, identified as Zikarious Flint, was seen at the complex putting bullets into a gun, police told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer.

When police arrived, the man began to run and CSU police officers chased him.

Officials told the newspaper that when officers turned a corner of a building, the man faced the officers and raised his arm. He was then shot.
