Former University of Georgia football player Rennie Curran will be the grand marshal of the 2014 Snellville Days Parade.
Matching its theme of “Dreams Do Come True,” Snellville will celebrate a local athlete who fulfilled his NFL dream as the grand marshal of the Snellville Days parade.
Rennie Curran, a former University of Georgia football player, who played for the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will be headline the 41st anual Snellville Days parade, officials announced Friday.
Curran will be joined at the May 3 parade by UGA mascot Hairy Dawg, as well as local marching bands, clowns, stilt walkers, politicians and beauty queens.
Officials announced details on the 10 a.m. parade, which kicks off at the Kmart on Wisteria Drive and travels to North Road, then turning up Oak Road until it reaches City Hall.
Organizations interested in being a part of the parade should contact Mayor Kelly Kautz, who is chairing the parade committee, to submit float applications. Email her at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit snellvilledays.com. The best float winner will receive a $600 cash prize, with $400 for second place and $200 for third place.
