Firefighters respond to small blaze at Post Office Distribution Center in Duluth

Gwinnett County firefighters were called out to a report of a fire at the Boggs Road Post Office Distribution Center in Duluth on Monday night.

Just after 8 p.m., a caller to the 911 dispatch center stated there was smoke in the bathroom and spreading throughout the office area, Gwinnett fire spokesman Lt. Colin S. Rhoden said.

"Crews arrived to find the business evacuated of workers and performed a thorough search which found a small fire in the cubicle area near a bathroom," Rhoden said.

He said sprinklers were able to extinguish the fire, however, smoke filled the large distribution center and its offices.

No injuries were reported, Rhoden said.

Fire Investigators were called to the scene for cause determination.
