ATHENS — Zach Meier drove in Caleb Carter in the top of the eighth inning with the winning run as Providence Christian’s baseball team defeated Athens Academy 4-3 Thursday night.
Meier’s game-winner was one of his four hits in the game for the Storm (5-5, 3-0).
Jackson Winskie was the winning pitcher, tossing seven innings, allowing no earned runs and striking out six. Winskie helped his own cause by belting a solo home run for Providence. Carey Spratlin earned the save by striking out the side in the bottom of the eighth.

SUWANEE — Adam Corn pitched a complete game as North Gwinnett defeated Habersham Central 5-1 on Thursday. Corn struck out seven and improved his record to 2-0 on the season for the Bulldogs (7-3, 2-0).
Eight of the nine starters for North had one hit apiece to lead the balanced attack. Wes Brooks drove in two runs and Zach Tindol and Ben Carswell drove in one each.

NORCROSS — Greater Atlanta Christian defeated Duluth 17-2 in three innings Thursday night.
Connor Joseph and Will Lovett each belted three-run home runs for the Spartans (7-2). Ross Wood had three hits and two RBIs while Devin Daugherty had two hits and drove in four runs for GAC.

SUGAR HILL — Lanier swept a doubleheader from Region 8-AAAA foe Chestatee on Thursday.
Matt Ramsay picked up the win in the first game for the Longhorns. Trenton Little drove in two runs and Anthony Valvo and Kristoff Reitig each had two hits.
In Game 2, Little picked up the win on the mound as T.J. Richardson had four hits and drove in four runs. Valvo and Cameron Coursey each had three hits for Lanier (8-3, 2-0).
