Duluth-based NCR Corporation was named Wednesday as one of the Top 10 Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia.
The Technology Association of Georgia singled out the top companies from a list of 40 announced last week for showing the highest degree of innovation, broadest scope of financial impact and greatest effect in promoting Georgia’s technology industry throughout the world, a press release said.
NCR, which moved its headquarters to Gwinnett in 2009, is the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, the release said, adding that the company enables more than 495 million transactions a day in retai, financial, travel hospitality, telecom and other industries.
Joining NCR on the list are Atlanta companies: M2SYS Technology, MapLarge, Partpic Inc., Patientco, Rigor, Sensiotec, SoftWear Automation, Springbot and The Weather Company.
The companies will present their innovation at the Georgia Technology Summit next week. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26 at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
“The Top 10 awards are given to an elite group of companies whose products and solutions are not only changing their respective industries, they are also putting Georgia on the map as a state where technology innovation can thrive,” said Tino Mantella, president and CEO of TAG. “We applaud each of these companies for standing out as leaders in Georgia’s technology community and look forward to showcasing them at our annual Georgia Technology Summit.”
The man who chaired the Top 40 selection committee, Dennis Zakas, a partner and founder of Zakas & Leonard, who also chairs Group Office Buys, said the competition was “fierce” this year.
“The Top 10 demonstrate the depth and breadth of Georgia’s technology community,” Zakas said. “We are pleased to recognize this group of companies and believe that the community will be just as impressed as we are by their innovation and impact on Georgia’s technology industry.”
