Making plans for St. Patrick’s Day weekend and Monday’s holiday? Make sure those plans include a safe ride home.
AAA and Bud Light have teamed up again to offer the Tow to Go program to discourage an intoxicated driver from getting behind the wheel and risking the lives and safety of other motorists.
“This program is invaluable because it brings attention to the dangers of drinking and driving beyond just giving an intoxicated driver a safe ride home on the holiday weekend,” said Gerry Gutowski, senior vice president for Automotive Services with The Auto Club Group. “St. Patrick’s Day is on a Monday this year so people may be inclined to celebrate throughout the holiday weekend and they need to have a plan for a designated driver before they have their first drink.”
Tow to Go services include a confidential local ride within a 10-mile radius to a safe location and the AAA tow truck takes both the vehicle and the driver to that destination. The service is free, and anyone, AAA member or not, can call for a Tow to Go ride, March 14 through 18.
The number to call? 1-855-286-9246.
“Don’t just rely on luck to get you home safely this St. Patrick’s Day,” said Kathy Casso, vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility for Anheuser-Busch. “Adults should plan ahead to ensure they’ve arranged a safe ride home, which is why we’re offering Tow to Go this weekend.”
