Sorority celebrates 20th Anniversary
The Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter (UAO) of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Gwinnett’s first Greek-lettered organization for college-educated black women, is celebrating 20 years of service this year. The UAO’s Archives Committee has written and published a history book, “Reflection of Pearl-fection: The Timeless Service of Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated,” to capture in print the sisterly and service-oriented spirit of the chapter.
The UAO chapter has also planned a host of activities throughout the year to celebrate this important milestone including a special anniversary luncheon and a time capsule. The community is invited to take part in a number of the public activities scheduled in celebration of UAO’s milestone.
