PREP ROUNDUP: Thompson pitches Wesleyan past Providence Christian

NORCROSS — Alex Thompson pitched a complete game to lead Wesleyan to a 6-4 win over Providence Christian Wednesday night. Thompson walked one and struck out six for the Wolves. Grant Colton and Jahmai Jones each drove in two runs for Wesleyan. Carter Hall had two hits, both triples, to lead the Wolves.

Carey Spraltin, Zach Meyer and Evan Porter each had two hits for the Storm (2-4).

Shiloh 5, Tucker 0

SNELLVILLE — Myles Smith pitched a no-hitter and struck out 10 as Shiloh defeated Tucker 5-0 on Wednesday. B.J. Armstead and Smith both had two hits to lead the Generals (5-2) to the victory.

Milton 12, Mill Creek 1

HOSCHTON — Mill Creek dropped a 12-1 decision to Milton on Wednesday. Will Zimmer, Austin Parham and Cameron Turley each had a hit for the Hawks (3-3).

Parkview 7, Lassiter 5

LILBURN — Parview defeated Lassiter 7-5 Wednesday night to improve to 2-1 on the season. Jim Wagner picked up the win, in relief, for the Panthers. Wagner tossed two innings and struck out three Trojans. Trevor Brown hit a solo home run for Parkview and Wagner, Ryan Kregel and Michael Craig each had a hit for the Panthers.

Norcross 8, Dacula 6

DACULA — Graeme Stinson picked up the win and Trevor Craport earned the save as Norcross defeated Dacula 8-6 Wednesday night. Stinson struck out five and Craport fanned two in his only inning to earn the save.

Jacob Gassert and Devin Geraghty each drove in two runs for the Blue Devils (4-2). Griffin Helms and Jascanel Ferreras each had two hits to lead Norcross.

Dacula (3-3) was led by Austin Collins who had three hits. Gage Murray added two hits for the Falcons.

Buford 9, GAC 1

NORCROSS — Austin Upshaw hit a grand slam and drove in a total of six runs to lead Buford to a 9-1 win over Greater Atlanta Christian Wednesday night. Kevin Coulter picked up the win on the mound pitching four innings and not allowing a run, while striking out six Spartans. Nick Wilhite and Austin Wilhite each drove in a run for the Wolves (2-0).

Mountain View 17, Archer 3

LAWRENCEVILLE — Mountain View erupted for 14 runs in the top of the eighth inning to defeat Archer 17-3 on Wednesday night. Ben Utley picked up the win for the Bears pitching one inning and striking out one.

Robert Kwiatkowski had a home run and scored three runs for Mountain View. Josh Logan and Forrest Girardeau each had two hits for the Bears (5-1).

Mountain View 3, Archer 2

LAWRENCEVILLE — Mountain View evened up its season record at 3-3 with a 3-2 win over Archer Wednesday. Jeffrey Coy and Chris Taddei won in singles while the doubles tandem of Troy Major and Josh Gilbert were also victorious for the Bears.

Dacula 4, Elbert County 1

DACULA — Dacula defeated Elbert County 4-1 Wednesday to even its record at 3-3 on the season. Louis Conde, Zak Germaine and Myles Porter won in singles. Chase Hamilton and Daniel Mocanu won their doubles match for the Falcons.

Brookwood 5, Grayson 0

LOGANVILLE — Brookwood improved to 7-0 on the season with a 5-0 win over Grayson. Brandon Mills, Will George and Zach Jennings were winners in singles for the Broncos. The doubles tandems of David Brown and Will McWhirt along with Ryan Pridgeon and Anthony Porcelli were also victorious for Brookwood.

Parkview 4, Mill Creek 1

HOSCHTON — Parkview swept the singles matches en route to defeating Mill Creek 4-1 Wednesday night. Calvin Gratz, Brendan Taliaserro and Dustin Bowie won the singles matches and Riley Shannon and Will Carroll won in doubles for the Panthers (7-2).

LAWRENCEVILLE — Archer remained undefeated with a 3-2 win over Mountain View on Wednesday. Nicole Samson won in singles for the Tigers (8-0). The doubles tandems of Kaitlyn Balsamides and Sydney Sorensen along with Emily Osmer and Tori Lawson also won for Archer.

Mill Creek 5, Parkview 0

HOSCHTON — Mill Creek blanked Parkview 5-0 Wednesday night. Madison Hahn, Abbi Jordan and Kayleigh Hahn won singles matches. Emily Husfeld and Katie Hill along with Madison Walsh and Kirsten Nichols won doubles matches for the Hawks.

MONROE — South Gwinnett defeated Central Gwinnett 202-246 in a match played at the Providence Club on Wednesday. Kevin Geary shot a 36 for the Comets. Jason Nash shot a 48 for South. Darcell Chatman and Blake Scott shot 51 and 60 to lead the Black Knights.

DACULA — North Gwinnett picked up its first win of the season with a 2-1 win over Hebron Christian Wednesday night. Kendall Welkley and Katie Strand scored for the Bulldogs (1-3). Assisting on the goals were Amanda Delgado and Jordan Goldring. Kendall Towe scored for Hebron on an assist from Tyler Roof. Lexi Kent made 11 saves in net for the Lions.

Will Hamryka added the insurance for the Spartans later in the game. Defender George Winfrey and goalie Marius Hieslitz posted the shutout for GAC.

DACULA — Ryan Gordon’s goal off an assist from Trevor Grandstaff was the difference as North Gwinnett defeated Hebron Christian 1-0 Wednesday. Max Smith posted the shutout in net, making five saves for the Bulldogs (3-1).
