Each year, the United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council in Gwinnett honors four women for their time, treasure, talent and legacy.
This year is no different. On Friday, March 28, the council will host its 10th annual Women’s Legacy Awards Gala at the Sonesta Gwinnett Place. The fundraiser, which will begin at 6 p.m., will include a reception and dinner.
“The awards have become a signature event in this community in which Gwinnett-based business leaders and volunteers come together to honor women that donate their time, talent and treasure to improve the lives of their neighbors,” said Demetrius Jordan, United Way’s regional director for Gwinnett, DeKalb and Fulton counties. “This year, we are working to expand positive, sustainable change in three key areas: health, income and homelessness.”
To that end, proceeds from the gala will be awarded to agencies in Gwinnett County that assist children and families. With financial support from the community, more than $400,000 has been raised through this annual event for Gwinnett-based human care programs over the past decade.
Gwinnett Medical Center is the presenting sponsor for this year’s event, and additional sponsors include Metro Waterproofing Inc. and Primerica Inc.
