Dennis Hovey, 62 left us for heaven without any prior notice on June 23, 2014. Dennis is already sadly and sorely missed, he left us far too soon.
Dennis was often the person we all wished we could have been, he never met a strangerwithin minutes of meeting Dennis he would get your entire life story and would never forget any detail. He always had a smile and a joke, he loved to make his friends laugh. He was also the first person to lend a hand to a friend, it didnt matter how big or small the taskhe was right thereuntil it was doneand a job well done often was rewarded with an ice cold beer and a few laughs about the job.
Dennis followed his Mom, Laverne; his brothers Larry and David, and his dog, Mickey to heaven. He left on earth his Dad, Bill and his wife Rita; his sister, Gale and brother, Mike; and his daughter Katie Gifford, her husband Rob and his 2 grandkids, Bradley and Rebecca, and a lot of good friends. He is already missed more than can be imagined.
Dennis spent the last 8 years living in Georgia. He was very close to his family and friends. He worked at Lowes where he became friends with many co-workers; he often stopped at Buffalos on his way home from work where he developed friendships with many of those who he shared a beer with; it was his own Cheers. His co-workers and friends became a part of the fabric of his life. Before moving to Georgia, Dennis lived in Felicity, Ohio where he owned Cobra Painting Company, he specialized in electrostatic and other painting; he raised his daughter Katie there and was always proud of her.
Dennis loved his family and friends more than any things in his life-but he also loved rock-n-roll, golf, Ohio State football and a cold beer on a hot day, not necessarily in that order.
His family invites you to celebrate his life at the Georgia Trail at Sugarloaf, 2789 Satellite Boulevard, Duluth, GA 30096 on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 3 p.m. for a service, followed by a reception from 3:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. to celebrate of a life well lived.
