Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful begins new campaign to encourage environmental stewardship
Non-profit organization Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is starting a new promotion geared toward motivating Gwinnett citizens to take care of the environment. As part of the 2014 “Take the Pledge” campaign, the organization is kicking off “Pledge-a-Palooza,” going on now through July 1, in which participants take a pledge to be an environmental steward, then take part in a planet-friendly activity and submit a brief summary and photos of their project to Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful by 5 p.m. on July 1. Twenty winners will receive a prize of $100 each.
“Pledge-a-Palooza represents a fun way for Gwinnett County residents and businesses to do their part for their local community,” says Connie Wiggins, Executive Director for Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful. “We had a terrific response to our last initiative, where we were able to engage more than 16,000 Georgians, collect more than 6000 pounds of recyclables, build a community playground, beautify 178 miles of roadway and more over the course of 92 days. We are hoping to keep that same energy going with Pledge-a-Palooza.”
