ASPCA All-American Summer events continue

The ASPCA’s All-American Summer series of events will continue with the third annual Pet Adoption Explosion Saturday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. To start the day off, the Bone to Ride Motorcycle Ride will begin at the American Legion Post 223, located at 4635 Highway 78 in Loganville at 9 a.m. At 11 a.m., a free hot rod and car show will begin at the animal shelter and run for the rest of the day.

Throughout the day, visitors will be able to enjoy food trucks, a live dog show and displays from several vendors. Pets will also be available for adoption for a reduced fee throughout the event.

Dept. of Water Resources offers smart irrigation workshop

The Department of Water Resources is offering a workshop on smart irrigation from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 24. Participants will learn about efficient outdoor watering practices and how to maintain an irrigation system. They will also receive a free outdoor watering efficiency kit. Pre-registration is required.

Punt, Pass and Kick to be held at Rhodes Jordan Park Saturday

On Saturday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., boys and girls ages 6 to 15 will be able to compete in punting, passing and kicking at Rhodes Jordan Park. Participants will compete in separate age groups and be scored on distance and accuracy. They will also earn the chance to advance to a regional- and state-level competition at the Georgia Dome.
