SUWANEE — The city of Suwanee has issued a call for artist submissions for its annual Art on a Limb program.
The city is seeking proposals and art samples to commemorate the 10th year of its finders-keepers, art-in-nature program. Since 2005, the city has hidden two pieces of original artwork daily throughout the month of May along the Suwanee Creek Greenway and at other parks. Those who find the artwork get to keep the pieces.
Past Art on a Limb pieces have included clay birds and orbs, small paintings on canvas, as well as pieces of the city’s old water tower, magnets, gourds painted to look like birds, the Suwanee S shaped from metal and pottery pieces that include leaves found along the Greenway.
Artistic proposals for this year’s program will be accepted through Feb. 24. Guidelines and an application can be found online at suwanee.com.
Questions about submissions may be directed to Events Manager Amy Doherty, via email to email@example.com or by calling 770-945-8996 ext. 3387.
