Seniors invited to learn firearms safety Tuesday
A workshop on firearms safety will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Bethesda Park Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Road in Lawrenceville.
The workshop is for those 50 and older and will not require any live firearms or ammunition. Attendees will learn all gun safety rules, about ammunition, proper storage principles and what self-defense means.

Local nonprofit hosting Valentine’s Day gala
Dream House for Medically Fragile Children is hosting an inaugural dinner and dance Saturday, Feb. 8.
The Red Heart Gala will be held at Sonesta Gwinnett Place, 1775 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth. The event, which will start at 6 p.m., will include live and silent auctions, music by the Atlanta Pleasure Band, dinner and dancing.

Dream House provides support and resources for families who have medically fragile children so those families are better equipped to care for their children and keep them at home.
