PREP ROUNDUP: Skidgel lifts Archer over Dacula

There was no letdown for Archer as Amber Skidgel’s 16 points lifted the Tigers to a 60-37 win over Dacula on Friday in Region 8-AAAAAA. Archer defeated region rival Parkview on Thursday and upped its record to 15-1, 8-0 with Friday’s victory.

Autumn Newby had 13 points and 10 rebounds while Linsey Marchese added 12 points and seven rebounds for Archer. Faustine Aifuwa led Dacula with 15 points, while Jonnae Johnson added 10 for the Falcons.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lanier 42,

Providence Christian 21

SUGAR HILL — Lanier defeated Providence Christian Academy 42-21 Friday night. Trezha Berryman led the Longhorns (5-7) with nine points and eight rebounds. Amber Cesair had nine points and five steals and Lauren Brown had eight points and six rebounds for Lanier. Chantal Arslanian led the Storm with eight points.

Parkview 62, Shiloh 35

SNELLVILLE — Parkview defeated Shiloh 62-34 in Region 8-AAAAAA action Friday night. Kristi Derouen led the Panthers (14-2, 6-1) with 14 points. Dominique Leonidas and Makenna Pouengue each had 10 points for Parkview. Courtney Blair led the Generals (6-6, 3-4) with eight points.

Buford 54, West Hall 34

OAKWOOD — Buford improved to 13-1, 6-0 in Region 7-AAA with a 54-34 win over West Hall on Friday. Camille Anderson led the Wolves with 16 points, while Bree Horrocks added 10 points for Buford.

Hebron Christian 62,

Tallulah Falls 23

DACULA — Ashley Stanley’s triple-double helped Hebron Christian to a 62-23 Region 8-A win over Tallulah Falls on Friday. Stanley had 21 points, 10 assists and 10 steals to lead the Lions (9-3, 3-3). Hannah Lentz had a game-high 23 points and Jozie Lewis had 14 points an 10 rebounds for Hebron.

Duluth 54,

Habersham Central 41

DULUTH — Endia Banks’s 17 points led Duluth to a 54-41 Region 7-AAAAAA win over Habersham Central on Friday. Katie Powell added 12 points for the Wildcats (9-7, 5-2).

Peachtree Ridge 49,

Meadowcreek 30

SUWANEE — Lorrie Cruse’s 18 points lifted Peachtree Ridge to a 49-30 win over Meadowcreek on Friday. Marissa Bowman and Justina Young each had eight points for the Lions (8-7, 4-3).

Central Gwinnett 43,

South Gwinnett 38

SNELLVILLE — Central Gwinnett defeated South Gwinnett 43-38 in Region 8-AAAAAA action Friday. Alexandra Frazier led the Black Knights (10-4, 5-3) with 13 points. Brianna McGee added 11 points and Chisom Okonkwo pulled down 10 rebounds for Central.

Norcross 54, Collins Hill 37

SUWANEE — Norcross defeated Collins Hill 54-37 in Region 7-AAAAAA Friday night. Bri Williams and Tylia Gillespie each had 12 points for Norcross (12-3,7-1). Vashnie Perry also added 11 points for the Blue Devils.

Collins Hill (9-6, 2-4) was led by Sydney Brown’s 12 points and Kyra Davis who had 10 points and eight rebounds.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Shiloh 69, Parkview 53

SNELLVILLE — Kareem Brewton’s 18 points lifted Shiloh to a 69-53 win over Parkview in Region 8-AAAAAA action on Friday. Josh Okogie and Elliott Strickland scored 12 points and Jordan Chance added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Generals (9-4, 7-1).

Dacula 73, Archer 53

DACULA — Dacula improved to 13-3, 4-3 in Region 8-AAAAAA with a 73-53 win over Archer on Friday. Cam Moye led the Falcons with 25 points and seven rebounds. Zentavious Cobb had 10 points and 13 rebounds, while teammate Keshawn Gibbs had 17 points.

Providence Christian 58, Lanier 49

SUGAR HILL — Steven Kleinschmidt scored 14 points to lead Providence Christian to a 58-49 win over Lanier on Friday night. Duncan Gotfredson and ABJ Kushanu scored 11 and 10 points respectively for the Storm (5-9).

DACULA — Hebron Christian improved to 8-8 overall and 5-1 in Region 8-A with a 71-46 win over Tallulah Falls on Friday. Derek Vandiver led the Lions with 21 points. Cory Johnson and Luke Crawford had 14 and 12 points respectively for Hebron.

SNELLVILLE — Shaun Jones led Central Gwinnett with 19 points to lead the Black Knights to a 54-52 win over South Gwinnett in Region 8-AAAAAA Friday night. Karon Jackson had 13 points and Khalil Oxuna added nine points for Central (9-6, 3-5).

OAKWOOD — Buford improved to 10-5, 6-0 in Region 7-AAA with a 77-49 win over West Hall on Friday. Rakim Lubin led the Wolves with 21 points. D’Marcus Simonds and Taylor Mills each had 14 points for Buford.

ATHENS — Apalachee had four players score in double figures as the Wildcats defeated Cedar Shoals 79-68 in Region 8-AAAAA Friday night. Kamar Baldwin scored 28 points and hit 9 of 10 free throws to lead Apalachee (13-2, 7-2). Kent Knowles had 19 points while Jody German and Wright Patterson had 12 and 10 points respectively.

DULUTH — Duluth won its eighth-straight game, a 82-36 win over Habersham Central in Region 7-AAAAAA Friday night. Six players scored in double figures for the Wildcats (11-5, 5-2). Zaynah Robinson led Duluth with 17 points while teammate Eric Hamilton added 14.

Norcross 73, Collins Hill 58

SUWANEE — Lorenzo Carter scored 24 points to lead Norcross to a 73-58 win over Collins Hill Friday night. The win improved the Blue Devils to 11-5 and 5-2 in Region 7-AAAAAA. A.J. Farrar added 10 points for Norcross.

Devin Mitchell and Devin Watson led the Eagles with 16 and 15 points respectively.

NORCROSS — Greater Atlanta Christian School upped its record to 23-9 with a 67-6 dual meet victory over Riverside Military Academy on Friday. Winning by pin for the Spartans were Hunter Hemmings (113 pounds), Zak Dean (120), Wyatt Vaughn (126), Kyle Politz (132), Emeritus Morris (138), Carter Clinebell (145), Brooks Rice (170) and Mitchell Shea (220).
