PREP ROUNDUP: Gibbs helps Dacula hold off Mill Creek

HOSCTHON — Keshawn Gibbs had a game high 27 points to help Dacula hold off Mill Creek 66-61 Saturday night. The Falcons held a three point lead with one minute left in the game and were able to convert their free throws to secure the win. Kevon Tucker helped the Dacula effort with 16 points while Cam Moye had 11 points and nine rebounds.

Keetone Glover led the Hawks (4-8) with 17 points. Scotty Chadwick and Miles Riley had 14 and 12 respectively for Mill Creek.

Boys Basketball

Shiloh 63, Peachtree Ridge 47

SNELLVILLE — Josh Okogie’s 28 points helped Shiloh power past Peachtree Ridge 63-47 Saturday night. Kareen Brewton added 13 points for the Generals (7-4).

Grayson 56, Lanier 46

LOGANVILLE — Grayson improved to 12-1 on the season with a 56-46 win over Lanier. Jordan Dilwood led the Rams with 16 points. Marquise Lanier added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Grayson.

Buford 91, White Copunty 72

CLEVELAND — Rakim Lubin scored 23 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Buford to a 91-72 win over White County Saturday. Taylor Mills had 21 points, eight assists and six steals for the Wolves (8-5).

D’Marcus Simonds added 19 points and 10 rebounds while teammate Matt McMorris had 13 points for Buford.

Wesleyan 63, Savannah Country Day 49

SAVANNAH — Brian Coffey had 21 points to help Wesleyan to a 63-49 win over Savannah Country Day on Saturday. Jaylen Clarke added 12 points while Brendan McDaniel had 11 for the Wolves (4-11). With the win, Wesleyan evened its record on their Savannah road trip. On Friday, Wesleyan fell to Calvary Day 39-32.

Mt. Pisgah 60, Providence Christian 57

JOHNS CREEK — Providence Christian’s rally fell short as the Storm (4-8) fell to Mt. Pisgah 60-57 Saturday. Steven Kleinschmidt led Providence with 22 points. Duncan Gotfredson and ABJ Kashanu had 15 and 12 points respectively.

Girls Basketball

Mill Creek 53, Dacula 43

HOSCHTON — Meredith Schulte poured in 23 points including 4-3 pointers to help Mill Creek to a 53-43 win over Dacula Saturday night. Tatum Ragsdale added 11 and Shannon McCrosson dished out six assists for the Hawks (10-4).

Faustine Aifuwa led the Falcons (10-5) with 14 points and 11 rebounds. J’Nai Owens had 11 points and Jonae Johnson had 10 points for Dacula.

Grayson 53, Lanier 29

LOGANVILLE — Grayson defeated Lanier 53-29 Saturday. Lika Bah led the Rams (7-6) with 12 points and five assists. Miranda Clark had 10 points and pulled down nine rebounds for Grayson.

Peachtree Ridge 46, Shiloh 42 OT

SNELLVILLE — Peachtree Ridge defeated Shiloh 46-42 in overtime on Saturday. With the Lions (8-5) leading 44-42 and seven seconds left in overtime, Peachtree Ridge’s Kendra Purifoye stole the ball and helped seal the win for the Lions. Lorrie Cruse led Peachtree Ridge with 16 points. Marissa Bowman added 13 and Purifoye contributed 10 points.

Racquel Cranston and Kaylen Ward led the Generals (6-4) with 18 and nine points respectively.

Wesleyan 74, Savannah Country Day 20

SAVANNAH — Wesleyan defeated Savannah Country Day 74-20 on Saturday. Nikki McDonald led the Wolves (10-2) with 16 points while Mikayla Coombs added 15 for Wesleyan.

Providence Christian 28, Mt. Pisgah 24

JOHNS CREEK — Providence Christian improved to 4-7 on the season with a 28-24 win over Mt. Pisgah on Saturday.

Wrestling

GAC places third at 4-AA duals

JEFFERSON — Greater Atlanta Christian placed third at the Region 4-AA duals Saturday. The Spartans defeated Union County (82-0), lost to Social Circle (38-24), defeated Washington-Wilkes (81-0) before defeating Rabun County 63-16 in the third place match. Host Jefferson won the Region while Social Circle placed second.
