Entering its 10th year, the Suwanee Farmers Market is looking for vendor applications for its popular Tuesday and Saturday showcase.
City officials have said the city typically receives more applications than can be accommodated by available space at Town Center Park. But farmers who can provide fresh produce, jams, breads, honey, meat products, eggs and flowers are invited to apply to participate in the 2014 season.
Applications are available at suwanee.com.
No reselling is allowed, and products sold at the Suwanee Farmers Market must be grown or made by the vendor. Arts and crafts are also not allowed.
The market opens on May 3, and Saturday markets are from 8 a.m. to noon through Oct. 4. Tuesday markets are from 4 to 7 p.m. through Aug. 5. But weather patterns have allowed city officials to extend the market’s dates in previous years.
The demand for an additional day, and the number of farmers to supply the market created the Tuesday opening four years ago. The market has drawn customers from Braselton and vendors from Flowery Branch.
Two years ago, the city required homemade items be cooked in a commercial kitchen that’s inspected by the health department.
