New Duluth Big Lots to hold ribbon cutting
A Big Lots location in Duluth will celebrate its grand opening Friday, Feb. 21, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. During the grand opening celebration, Big Lots District Manager Dale Murphy will present $1,500 to Radloff Middle School. Dr. Sarah Skinner will accept the check on behalf of the school.
“Our easy-to-shop stores and extreme brand-name deals have been big hits with our customers in Duluth for years and we are confident this new location will deliver a fresh and exciting customer experience they are sure to enjoy,” said Andrew Stein, senior vice president and chief customer officer for Big Lots.
The ribbon cutting will be held at 9 a.m. and the store is located at 3950 Venture Drive in Duluth.
Store to hire about 300 associates for new location
Walmart will hire approximately 300 associates for its new store slated to open this spring in Suwanee at Peachtree Parkway and Mathis Airport Road, and a temporary hiring center has opened at 1675 Peachtree Parkway, Suite 170, in Cumming.
Applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Interested applicants may also apply online at careers.walmart.com.
Store manager Zane McCusker said the location will be hiring both full- and part-time associates. The majority of new associates will begin work in April to help prepare the store for its grand opening.
“I look forward to meeting applicants who are interested in building a career at Walmart,” McCusker said. “This is an exciting development for Suwanee and I’m eager to build the store’s new team.”
Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months.
