Gladiators trade Corbin to Evansville

DULUTH — The Gwinnett Gladiators traded one of their most effective defenseman to Evansville in exchange for future considerations Thursday.

Antoine Corbin is headed to play for former Gladiators head coach Jeff Pyle. The IceMen are in the thick of the playoff hunt, while the Gladiators lag behind, 13 points out of the final spot in the Eastern Conference.

Corbin, 21, had three goals and eight assists in 21 games with the Gladiators this season. He was acquired by Gwinnett from Cincinnati on Dec. 11 for future considerations.

The Gladiators play in Orlando tonight and Saturday to close out a five-game road stand.

Evansville comes to town on Feb. 25.
