LOGANVILLE James King James A. King, age 88, of Loganville, GA passed away on February 5, 2014 from complications of a hip fracture. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Powell King, and his daughter, Linda King Parks. He is survived by son-in-law, Bill and Bills wife Theresa Parks residing in Ellijay, GA, his neice Rebecca Moody, residing in Loganville, GA; as well as other nieces and nephews. Amos was a native of Griffin, GA and served as the pastor of the Griffin Congregation Methodist Church for many years. He loved to preach, sing, read his bible and tell people about the Lord. He was a veteran of the U.S.Navy, serving on the USS New York during WWII. He was employed by United Cotton Goods, Griffin, GA, as a salesman and Middle Georgia Textiles until he retired. The graveside service honoring the life of Mr. King will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, Ga. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home, Snellville Chapel. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to The Alzheimers Association, 1925 Century Blvd, NE, Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345-3315.
