Southern Miss football sways a pair of Peachtree Ridge seniors

Just last weekend, Aaron Harris visited Southern Miss with his Peachtree Ridge teammate Walden Davis.

Committed to Samford at the time, Harris accepted the Southern Miss staff's offer of a last-minute trip. The coaches saw the linebacker pop up while watching video of his teammate and Eagle commitment Davis.

“We wanted to play with each other,” said Harris, who played the past four years with Davis. “I know as a linebacker that I don't have to worry about what's going on behind me with (defensive back Davis) behind me.”

Davis and Harris both raved about the people and city of Hattiesburg, Miss., and talked about the importance of the school's business program. But the two were mostly excited to continue to play football and doing it together was a bonus.

“I didn't think that he was going to come with me,” said Davis, who was committed to Georgia State until recently. “But he came around."
