Winder-Barrow introduces new football coach

Winder-Barrow introduced Heath Webb, currently a Peachtree Ridge assistant, as its new head football coach Tuesday night at a booster club meeting.

Webb was previously a head coach at North Paulding, where he went 17-23 in four seasons from 2008-11. He then served as an assistant at Flowery Branch and Peachtree Ridge the past two seasons.

Webb played football for Habersham Central and Presbyterian College (S.C.) before staring his coaching career at Habersham in 2002. He was hired as Milton’s offensive coordinator the following season. He followed that up with a stint as the associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Lumpkin County before leaving to start the North Paulding program.

The Barrow County School Board still must approve Webb’s hiring before it becomes official.
