Jail mugshot of Dillon Lee (via ABC 33/40)
Buford High School graduate and current University of Alabama football player Dillon Lee was arrested Thursday and charged with driving under the influence.
AL.com reported that Tuscaloosa, Ala., police responded to the scene of a “minor accident” at about 2 a.m. Thursday “after it was reported one of the drivers was intoxicated.” Officers reportedly found cause to charge Lee, a junior linebacker for the Crimson Tide, with driving under the influence.
He was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail and released after sobering up and paying $1,000 bond, the website reported.
“I don’t have all the details at this point and will handle it appropriately once I’ve had a chance to review all of the information,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said in a statement, according to the AL.com report.
In January 2013, Lee was one of two players sent home prior to his team’s appearance in the BCS National Championship. That incident was due to curfew violations.
