Earth Day celebration Saturday at GEHC
The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center (GEHC) offers families the chance to celebrate the planet with a wide range of activities at their annual Earth Day Festival on Saturday.
Visitors to the GEHC’s Earth Day Festival will be able to enjoy guided nature hikes, crafts, “edible” insects, solar t-shirt screening and face painting, plus local environmental groups will be on campus to share about environmental issues and helping the local community stay green. There will be a showing of the original 1972 version of Dr. Suess’ The Lorax as well as several planetarium shows in the Discovery Dome, and the Chattahoochee Nature Center will present a Hunters in the Sky animal presentation at 1 p.m.
The Earth Day Festival is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 12 at the GEHC, 2020 Clean Water Drive in Buford. The program fees for the event are $5 for ages 13 and older, $3 for ages 3 to 12 and free for children 2 and younger and GEHC members. For more information, visit gwinnettEHC.org.
