Gwinnett woman scratches instant ticket worth $1M

SNELLVILLE — A Dacula woman plans to pay off bills with her $1 million lottery winnings.

Kelly Bronaugh, 39, won a $1 million top prize playing the instant game 50X The Money. While on her lunch break, she stopped at Sams Mart No. 0513 at 3125 Lenora Church Road in Snellville to purchase a Coke and the ticket.

“My birthday was earlier in the week, and someone had given me a $20 gift card,” Bronaugh said. “I work in a medical office, and I scratched it while at my desk.

“Pure shock” is how Bronaugh described her reaction. “I had to ask a co-worker if it was real. I started screaming then everyone else started screaming.”

Bronaugh and her husband Neil have a son, who attends Georgia Lottery-funded pre-K.
