Flying Biscuit scores 100, reopens with new menu

PEACHTREE CORNERS — After it failed two recent health inspections, the Flying Biscuit Cafe is open again, and has a new menu.

General manager Brad Rubenstein said the restaurant at 5270 Peachtree Parkway voluntarily closed for several days while it put in a new kitchen floor, retrained the entire staff and brought in a third party food safety auditor. Rubenstein said the health department reinstated its permit after an action plan was put in place.

The restaurant was closed from Sept. 13 through Sept. 18. It was reinspected on Sept. 24 and received a score of 100.

“We’ve never been a dirty restaurant, never put people’s health at risk,” Rubenstein said.

The restaurant’s failing scores were a 59 on Sept. 12 and a 40 on Sept. 5.

The new menu, which includes a “very berry chicken salad” and a “strawberry and candied walnut chicken salad,” was planned before the restaurant temporarily closed, Rubenstein said.
