PREP ROUNDUP: Buford pours it on in win

BUFORD — After falling down 4-0 to Jefferson, Buford scored 17 runs in the third and fourth innings to win 17-4 on Saturday. The win moved the Wolves to 19-1 on the year.

Drew Puckett was the hero of the game with three home runs, including a grand slam to end the game. She finished the game, 3-for-4 with seven RBIs and three runs scored.

Remington Hasty was 2-for-3 with a home run, six RBIs and two runs scored, while Jordan Deep was 2-for-4. Sydney Stazro and Baylee Sexton were each 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

Emily Crocker picked up the win in the circle to move to 5-0 on the year.


Grayson 5, Evans 2

LOGANVILLE — Grayson picked up four wins Saturday as part of the Brookwood Invitational.

The first was a 5-2 win over Evans. Breanna Ethridge picked up the win in the circle and struck out eight, while Jen Spangler, Carley Batchelor and Sierra Smith were each 2-for-4.

Grayson then beat Union Grove, 4-1. Ethridge picked up the the win in the cirlce, while Spangler and Katlyn Smith were each 2-for-3. Sierra Smith also went 2-for-4.

The Rams also faced Houston County, which they beat, 6-3. Peyton Glover picked up the win in the circle and struck out 13. Stephanie Snyder was 3-for-3 with a home run.

Against Dodge Co., the Rams won 3-0. Glover picked up the win as well with another 13 strikeouts. Spangler was 2-for-3, while Snyder, Batchelor and Ethridge were each 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Brookwood 7, West Laurens 0

SNELLVILLE — Brookwood moved to 16-9 on the year with a 7-0 win over West Laurens on Saturday.

Amanda Ablan picked up the win in the circle, giving up one hit, while striking out 10. Taiylor Rinehart was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three stolen bases, while Sam Leach was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Ansley Jones was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Hannah Mason was 2-for-2 with a run scored.

Dacula 10, Union Grove 6

DACULA — Dacula moved to 15-3 on the year with a 10-6 win over Union Grove on Saturday.

Kristan Lizardi was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored, while Sabrina Sieber was 3-for-5 with four RBIs. Deja Spring also added a double.

Keeli Waugh picked up the win in the cirlcle with eight strikeouts, while also hitting a home run at the plate.

Archer 9, Houston Co. 1

LAWRENCEVILLE — Archer moved to 16-7 on the year with a 9-1 win in five innings over Houston County on Saturday.

Kory Best picked up the win in the circle to move to 6-3 on the year, while Brittany Maresette was 2-for-3 with a stolen base. Alesha Mann went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Kristin Hawkins and Holli Sturgill each had two RBIs.

Lanier goes 1-1

LOGANVILLE — Lanier went 1-1 on Saturday, beating Loganville (2-1) before losing to Jackson County (7-3).

Against Loganville, Kaylee Ramos picked up the win in the circle and went 2-for-3 at the plate. Hannah Coursey was also 2-for-3.

Against Jackson Co., Ramos had a home run, while Coursey was 2-for-3, and Kirsten Laughlin and Taylor Rowe were each 1-for-3.

Dacula 3, Jeff Davis 1

DACULA — Baylee Bedingfield was 2-for-3 with an RBI as Dacula beat Jeff Davis, 3-1, on Friday. Samantha Kapes went 1-for-3, while Alaina Bock picked up the win in the circle with five strikeouts.
