The Barrow County School System will host a Title I Family Academy presentation, Overcoming Language Barriers, for multi-lingual parents on Wednesday.
There are two sessions; one at 9 a.m. and again at 6 p.m., and each session, delivered in English and Spanish, will last an hour at the Professional Development Center at 179 W. Athens St. in Winder.
At the sessions, parents will learn about Title I expectations regarding translation of school documents and other communications and about Barrow County School System’s language resources.
Parents will also learn about free English classes available in the community. Child care for children four years old and older will be available at the 6 p.m. session. Younger children are welcome to attend with their parents.
