ATLANTA — Qualifying for special elections for State House Districts 100 and 104, which represent portions of Gwinnett, closed at noon Wednesday.
Four candidates qualified to seek election in District 104, including Teresa Cantrell (R-Dacula), a former Gwinnett planning commissioner; Chuck Efstration (R-Auburn), a former prosecutor who once lead the Gwinnett Republican Party; Tim Puckett (R-Buford), a retired Dacula’s postmaster; and Todd Tyson (R-Dacula), an area business owner.
One candidate qualified in District 100, Former Atlanta Falcon Dewey McClain (D-Lawrenceville). McClain was a linebacker with the team from 1976 to 1980.
The special election to fill the house seats will be held Nov. 5 and Gwinnett residents who wish to vote who are not registered must do so by Monday, Oct. 7.
