Body of drowning victim recovered at Lake Lanier Islands

BUFORD — The body of a 20-year-old male drowning victim has been recovered from Lake Lanier by the Hall County Fire Services’ dive team.

Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said three friends were swimming at Sunset Cove at Lake Lanier Islands Resort just after 4 p.m. Tuesday when they attempted to swim across the lake to a dock. One friend grew tired and the other two were unable to save the victim.

According to reports, the man was identified as Marquise Connor-Blunt, of College Park.
