LAWRENCEVILLE — A Fresh Start Resale, a local, family-owned resale/consignment store that offers new and gently-worn clothing, accessories, home décor and more, is holding a ribbon cutting to celebrate its grand opening.

Monkey Joe’s collecting donations for American Heart Association

DULUTH — Monkey Joe’s, a children’s entertainment franchise, has announced a partnership with the American Heart Association, the nation’s largest voluntary organization devoted to fighting cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

Gwinnett’s Monkey Joe’s location in Duluth is collecting donations to support the American Heart Association through Active Kids = Healthy Hearts, a campaign created by Monkey Joe’s to promote a more active lifestyle for children. Donations received during the month of September will benefit the cardiovascular health of children through programs such as Jump Rope For Heart, Hoops For Heart and additional children’s health initiatives.

The Duluth Monkey Joe’s location is at 5805 Statebridge Road, Suite 600.

Local business participating in company-wide food drive

LAWRENCEVILLE — sweetFrog Premium Frozen Yogurt, located at 875 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in Lawrenceville, is collecting canned and nonperishable food donations for a local food bank.

The company is celebrating the opening of its 300th store nationwide by donating meals to fight childhood hunger through its Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, and the Gwinnett location is contributing to that effort.

“One of the values behind the founding of sweetFrog is a commitment to serve the community, and our collaboration with the No Kid Hungry campaign is very much in keeping with that pledge,” Derek Cha, founder and CEO of sweetFrog, said in a news release. “Our mascots Scoop and Cookie join me in encouraging guests to come out and make this campaign a ‘sweet’ success. We’re in the business of putting smiles on kids’ faces, and that starts with making sure every child has enough to eat.”

Gwinnett residents can crop off donations for the food drive from Sept. 16 through 22.
