PREP ROUNDUP: Dillard, Longhorns beat Bears

LAWRENCEVILLE — Cameron Dillard picked up her first varsity win and Lanier beat Mountain View 8-3 on Wednesday.

Hannah Coursey was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Longhorns’ offensive effort. Isabelle Petty was 4-for-4 with two runs scored, while Cierra Fackler was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and Tiffani Sheldon was 2-for-3 for Lanier (5-10, 4-3).


Dacula 23, Central 6 (5 innings)

LAWRENCEVILLE — Emily Vigue and Makenzie Vanderhorst each batted in four runs as Dacula rolled to a 23-6 victory over Central Gwinnett in five innings Wednesday.

Vigue was 2-for-2 with a triple. Vanderhorst was 3-for-5. The Falcons (9-1) also got big nights from Shania Norman (2-for-3, two RBIs), Madison Moseley (3-for-5, two RBIs, three runs), Kristan Lizardi (2-for-4, two RBIs, three runs) and Sabrina Sieber (2-for-3).

Keeli Waugh (3-1) earned the win, allowing five hits and striking out six in five innings.

Norcross 3, Marietta 0

MARIETTA — Vanessa Bradford struck out 12 in a complete-game win as Norcross shut out Marietta 3-0 on Wednesday.

Bradford allowed just three hits in seven innings and was also 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run at the plate.

Rickary Holloman was 1-for-3 with a run and Anna Palmer was 1-for-2 for the Blue Devils (7-10).
