LAWRENCEVILLE — Gwinnett Great Days of Service isn’t until October, but the coalition spearheading the volunteer initiative is getting a head start informing residents what the two-day service event is all about.
The public is invited to attend a kickoff program from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dave and Buster’s at Sugarloaf Mills, 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway, No. 441, in Lawrenceville. The free event will include a brief program, appetizers, drinks and giveaways. Those who attend can also purchase Dave and Buster’s $10 game cards, with 50 percent of proceeds going to support the initiative.
Gwinnett Great Days of Service volunteers are from local businesses, church groups, schools and families and spend two days annually participating in projects ranging from staffing community events to painting and repairing buildings, installing playground sets and cleaning up nature trails. The Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Services heads up the initiative.
This year’s days of service are Oct. 4 and 5. Find out more about Gwinnett Great Days of Service online at www.gwinnettgreatdaysofservice.org.
