SNELLVILLE — Eastside Medical Center and its H2U-Health to You Program has scheduled a community health screening event for next week.
The screening for people 18 years old and older is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sept. 19 in classrooms one and two. It will include fasting blood sugar ($3.80), cholesterol ($5), total lipid profile which includes total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL, and cardiac risk factors ($17.90).
People who are screened must fast from 8 p.m. the evening before, and have no more than a sip of water to take required medication. People who are screened must also provide their doctor’s name, address and zip code at the time of testing, and wear a short sleeve shirt. Social Security numbers are needed for identification for the screenings. A free copy of the results will be mailed directly to each person screened and their doctor.
Stroke Coordinator Charmane Johnson is also scheduled to provide free stroke assessments and blood pressure checks. The event is free and open to the public. Participants will be served on a first come, first serve basis.
