SUWANEE — The community is invited to review Gwinnett County Public Schools instructional materials this week and next week at the district office.
The public review runs until Sept. 21 where parents and community members can offer input on proposed materials. The review by parents, teachers, administrators and community members is done after publishers submit materials that align with the district’s Academic Knowledge and Skills curriculum.
Textbooks and teacher resources for kindergarten through fifth grade, and two new high school math courses are among the materials to be reviewed.
Reviews are scheduled at the Instructional Support Center in the hallway between Buildings 100 and 200 at 437 Old Peachtree Road NW in Suwanee. The times are 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 19 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 21.
After the review, a recommendation will be made to the Gwinnett County Board of Education for adoption of the materials.
