SUWANEE — Amanda Chance threw seven six-hit innings and allowed four earned runs as Collins Hill edged Buford 6-5 at North Gwinnett on Saturday.
Chance struck out two in the win for the Eagles (10-2), who handed Buford (12-1) its first loss of the season.
Jaimie Hoover homered and scored a pair of runs on a 2-for-4 night for Collins Hill. Regan Morgan was 2-for-4, Tyra Holiday was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored and Calli Star knocked in a pair of runs with a double.
For Buford, Bria Bush (4-1) took the loss, pitching five innings and allowing just one earned run. Drew Puckett was 2-for-2 with a homer and three runs scored and Tessa Daniels and Baylee Sexton both went 2-for-3.
Heard Co. 6, Wesleyan 5
KENNESAW — Wesleyan dropped to 6-5 on the year, falling to Heard Co., 2-0, on Saturday at Kennesaw State.
Dacia Jones picked up the loss in the circle, giving up five hits and one earned run. She also went 1-for-3 at the plate with a triple.
