Barrow County authorities said 30-year-old Tanya Gippert and her 14-month-old daughter were last seen leaving their residence on Aug. 28. They are likely traveling in a gold 2000 Nissan Altima with license plate number PHR2416.
WINDER — A Barrow County woman and her infant daughter, missing for more than a week, were found safe Friday.
Barrow sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Matt Guthas said 30-year-old Tanya Gippert had last been seen Aug. 28 while “leaving her residence voluntarily” with her 14-month-old daughter. Gippert’s husband reported them missing on Aug. 30.
“We would like to let everyone know that the mother and child have been located safe,” Guthas said Friday afternoon. “No charges are anticipated as no evidence of criminal activity regarding this incident is known.”
Authorities were unsure what happened but were hoping for the best from the get-go.
“There is no evidence to suggest foul play, nor any evidence the child may be in danger,” Guthas said prior to their discovery. “The evidence at this time suggests the pair may have left the area voluntarily.”
