NORCROSS — When MDI Group opened for business in the summer of 1988, the personal computer was new to the workplace.
Twenty-five years later, the Norcross IT staffing and recruiting services company has placed more than 10,000 IT professionals with companies of all sizes. When founder Howard Leff started the company, the adoption of PCs and computer networks sparked a demand for highly trained and experienced technology professionals.
The company was sold in 1995 to Ella Koscik, and expanded to Greenville, S.C., Phoenix, Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas, Charlotte, N.C., and Austin, Texas. With that growth, revenue increased from $10 million to $70 million, according to a press release. The company has 350 employees, and plans to employ more than 450 by the end of the year.
“Our 25th anniversary is a tremendous milestone, and the experience we’ve gained will propel us forward as MDI continues our growth strategy,” CEO Richey Brownfield said in the release. “We plan to expand our business model as the demand for experienced IT professionals continues to reach new all-time highs. With two recently opened Texas offices and a newly formed board of directors, we look forward to helping more IT organizations tackle what’s next in the future.”
