LAWRENCEVILLE — If you’re not a football fan, there is something for you this Sunday. Instead of crowding around the TV, you can join hundreds of people for a fall festival.
The city of Lawrenceville is hosting its fifth-annual Fair on the Square festival jammed packed with live music and entertainment. Some of the acts are local residents, such as Martha Dudley with her ribbon dance, Tiger Martial Arts’ Tae Kwon Do demonstrations and country music artist David Leon.
Other acts throughout the day include the trio AmorKismet, spoken word artist JRenee, indie group Misery Loves Chachi, rock band The Swank and country inspired 3 and Twenty.
At 4:30 p.m., couples and individuals have a chance to sign up for a dance contest. Those interested need to stop by the Welcome Table to sign up. Winners will take home prizes.
When you thought you’ve had enough, there is always time to shop. Local vendors will be scattered around selling arts and crafts, jewelry, photography, skin care products, hand bags, air brush tattoos and a variety of food.
Admission is free, but the organizers ask all attendees to donate either shampoo, diapers of all sizes, 33-gallon trash bags or non-perishable food items. All items will be given to The Quinn House, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people out of homelessness.
There are other things The Quinn House needs. To find out, visit www.thequinnhouse.com.
