NORCROSS — Every fall, the British descend upon Norcross. It is tradition, after all.
On Saturday, the 13th annual Atlanta British Car (and motorcycle) Fayre returns to South Peachtree and Jones streets in Norcross.
Some of the vehicles on display include Jaguars, Austin Healeys, Rolls-Royces, MGs and Lotuses, plus Triumph motorcycles. Hundreds of cars and motorcycles have been registered for the event and many more can come to the show on Saturday since the car registration never fills up. Organizers will take anyone who is willing to display their automobiles.
Once you’re finished with the vehicles, you can stop for afternoon tea and snacks. The Vintage English Tea Room located in the Masonic Lodge downtown will have an afternoon tea available from 1 to 4 p.m.
There are two choices for tea time. Either a serving of scones with jam and double devon cream and a pot of tea for $7 or a full afternoon tea with sausage roll, sandwiches, cake, scones with jam and double devon cream with a pot of tea for $12.
If tea isn’t your thing, Iron Horse Tavern is serving traditional English fish and chips, wrapped up to go.
The car show will be offering a raffle with prizes. Grand prize includes a weekend for two at the W Hotel Atlanta, cash prizes and contributions from Norcross shops and restaurants.
Proceeds from this year’s event, including the raffles, benefit the Winston Churchill Society of Georgia and Annandale Village of Suwanee.
