GAB: Community parks hosts senior computer classes

LAWRENCEVILLE — Bethesda Park Senior Center is hosting senior computer classes. Registration for the classes is between 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 10 at Bethesda Park Senior Center, which is located at 225 Bethesda Church Road in Lawrenceville. There is also registration from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 11 at George Pierce Community Center, 55 Buford Highway in Suwanee.

Funeral home presents traveling art exhibit

LOGANVILLE — Tim Stewart Funeral Home is hosting the “Eyes of Freedom” travelling art exhibit Sept. 27-29.

The “Eyes of Freedom” traveling memorial “shares the story of the fallen of Lima Company 3/25, one of the hardest hit units in Operation Iraqi Freedom. These eight life-size portraits are a powerful military tribute honoring all those who answered the call to service in every branch of our armed forces.”

Local bowling and entertainment center hosts charity poker run

Motorcycle enthusiasts in the Atlanta-area community will come together to participate in the Roll for a Warrior charity poker run scheduled for Saturday. Funds raised during the event will benefit Wounded Warrior Project, a program that “provides programs and services to severely injured service members during the time between active duty and their transition to the civilian life.”

Registration for the fundraising event will start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Brunswick Zone, 3835 Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn. At 11 a.m., riders will depart for a self-guided ride to five Atlanta-area Brunswick Zone and Brunswick’s locations, concluding with a reception and awards ceremony at the Brunswick Zone XL in Kennesaw. Riders will carry a poker hand score sheet to each location and prizes will be awarded for high and low hands and more.
