SUWANEE — A Suwanee church has named an interim pastor who will be installed during this week’s worship services.
The Rev. John M. Weber, who retired from Christ Our Shephard Luthern in Peachtree City in 2008, will take his new position at Epiphany Lutheran Church during services at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday. A reception for Weber and his wife, Ginnie, is scheduled for between the services. The church’s former pastor, the Rev. Rick Barger, was elected president of Trinity Lutheran Theological Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, and began his term on Sunday.
Weber is serving Epiphany while the congregation seeks a new lead pastor.
Epiphany, located at 1350 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., was founded in 1998 and moved to its current facility in 2004.
Since Weber’s retirement, he has served as the interim pastor for Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Atlanta, Christ the King Lutheran Church in Norcross and Lutheran Church of the Incarnation in Marietta. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.
