LAWRENCEVILLE —The Gwinnett Daily Post has named Johanna Pearse as general sales manager.
Pearse took the helm of local retail and classified advertising for the newspaper Tuesday.
“Johanna brings a wealth of experience in digital, print, and television advertising to our organization. Her creativity , extensive marketing background, and customer service focus will help retailers grow their businesses,” said Bob McCray, vice president of sales and marketing for the Daily Post’s parent company, Southern Community Newspapers Inc.
Pearse, who McCray called “a true media professional,” has extensive experience in the newspaper industry, as well as in broadcasting. Most recently she served as regional sales manager for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“She has a strong customer focus and our customers will benefit from her marketing knowledge and background,” McCray said.
Pearse said she looked forward to helping local advertisers connect to customers through a variety of platforms, including the digital format at gwinnettdailypost.com.
“I think community journalism is the strength, the foundation and the future of newspapers,” Pearse said. “It really is a great opportunity to be the heartbeat of the community.”
