DULUTH — Gwinnett County has seen its fair share of stars in the past year.
This time, Peter and Bobby Farrelly rented out space to film “Dumb and Dumber To” at the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center. The flick is the sequel to the brothers’ 1994 box office hit, “Dumb & Dumber.”
Filming wrapped up Wednesday. The brothers rented the theater for nine days, which included pre-production, a two-day shoot and post-production.
“The movie crew was great to work with,” said Selina Branstetter, Gwinnett Performing Arts Center manager. “We were honored to have such a high caliber event filmed in our theater.”
While in Duluth, the Farrellys used 400 extras for the film shoot on Gwinnett Center’s campus.
The movie stars Jim Carrey (who plays Lloyd Christmas) and Jeff Daniels (as Harry Dunne) and it has filmed all over the metro Atlanta area, including Stone Mountain.
Other actors in the movie include Jennifer Lawrence as a younger Fraida Felcher, Kathleen Turner as Fraida Felcher, Rob Riggle as Travis and Laurie Holden as Adele Pichlow.
“Dumb and Dumber To” is slated for release in 2014.
